As he promised, NoL> Ripster has returned with an optimized knockout of a 1.3 favourite dod_solitude_b4.
Stunning visuals, guaranteed excellent gameplay and solid fps. Running on both servers today and added to this season's SLDLeague. Thanks Ripster !!!
A.W.O.L-Slime has converted and enhanced an old moha map dod_lolobj_both_beta. It is a very large detonation map and the fps reflect this. It is running on the Annex today . Ask an enforcer to run it from the menu and post your comments

SLDLeague Introduction
Welcome to ninth season of the SunLit Games Day of Defeat:Source League, the SLDL.
The SLDL showcases quality custom maps suitable for competition. The SLDL was formed as a place for newly formed teams and teams new to formal matches to get a taste of league play. The calibre of many of the teams participating has risen substantially.
This season, we are running 2 conferences based on the teams' level of experience.
The matches will be scheduled on Sunday 9pm est. First match (preseason) August 6 , 2006. A detailed overview of the SLDL and its Rules can be found here.
Update or add your rosters to the list. We are aiming for two conferences based on skill and experience levels this season, so talk it up with your allied clans.

SLDL Finals on Coire_rc2, RAGE vs TooN was as excting as expected .
Both teams were fired up for the confrontation. TooN drew first blood with an early cap but RAGE countered soon after.
The match settled down into fierce pushes on both sides but TooN kept the intitiative. Col.Krust did an excellent job as the camera man , in spite of SourceTV's limitations.

SLDL 8 was a very successful season. The teams definitely had to push themselves with the strong competition. There were no disputes just good sportsmanship. Thanks to all the participating clans for making the SLDL a competitive and fun league.

IR has released an admittedly beta version of dod_breugelb8. Fps are pretty good and he is already at work optimizing further. What breugel does have is a great layout and fresh look. Its worth a run through.

"Hello again sunlit people... today is the day Prodod is going live!
The plan for now is to release the new client and everything at 4pm EST today, so be sure to swing by www.prodod.net around then.
Also, all of you with the old beta client will want to read the following message:
Anyone and everyone that has been using the old beta client to run the mod will need to completely delete their Prodod folder (should be in program files) for launch and download the new client/installer on release. If you do not do this you will continue to get update errors and not be able to play the game.
However, before you do this I would recommend that you save/backup your maps, configs, etc - PM me with any questions. - PuRe"
ProDOD has a bulit in cvar and file consistency plugin. The file consistency is disabled for launch.

"The CAL DOD:Source plugin is now available. It was written by James "sslice" of SharedBans.com and features file checking and cvar enforcement."
The plugin will be mandatory for league play but the question arises,
"Do we want to use it on the public servers?"
The upside is that it will be another buffer against exploits and cheats. The downside is that it will block any use of custom skins.

[AOS]Albatross presents a unique map dod_nuernberg_b1
"The setting shows a part of the old town including some of the more famous buildings like the St. Lorenz church, the church of our lady, the castle and so on...The map is designed for 18 to 32 (or more) players. It's a six-flag map, at the moment a normal CTF-layout, but with beta 2 going to be changed to a time-based winning map in the style of old DoD_Schwetz or DoD_Overlord."
The map is huge and gameplay is on the ground, roof and sewer with a 3 man cap on the bridge and two 2 man caps. ( sewer and roof top). FPS is 60+ and a minimap is included.

Lard has released an updated version of dod_stug_b3
Changelog: Added Ladders from the river up to the bridge.
Added Sewer tunnels for allies and axis from their right flank into the river.
Fixed player clips on all the building rooftops to stop exploits.
Blocked accessing opposing spawn areas.
Heaps of minor model placement issues.
Custom models of a German Stug III tank (normal and damaged).

Someth|ng W|cked has released his second version of dod_hill_classic_b2
-Performance tweaks, better fps
-Destroyed house redone and turned into allied spawn, closer the objectives
-Changed exterior layout of hilltop fort (trench models by waldo)
-Changed axis tower entrance for better flow
-Changed hilltop capture zone to only require 2 allies to cap and it now takes 7 seconds instead of 10
-Added mortars
-Added dead Cows (models by pedroleum)
-Added dead soldiers (models by pedroleum)
-Added ambient sounds and turned volume up on existing ones
-Allied players now spawn with TNT which can be used to blow walls creating more entrances into axis fort

"one of the things that i thought you guys might be interested in helping out with is playtesting the mod with a couple of the valve dod/dods devs. they (valve) recently got on board to primarily 'audit' the mod (and i'm guessing (based on their questions so far) to make sure you NEED dods, among some other things), but also to check out the changes we've made in general. they would like for the prodod team to schedule a time to play (during their workday) when other players will be playing too. since i do NOT want them to run around ingame with some of the 'not nice/tactful' people we have in our main group, i figured that the best place for them to play was with the Sunlit group, since i know you all can play your normal games and not (like some of our testers would) try and 'get in their face' or something. - Pure "

TOP GUN Mav has put out the first custom detonation map dod_tiger_detonation_b1.
The centre tank on the bridge is replaced by crates of charges. The map is playing on the Annex today.Please add your comments in TOP GUN's post and help get the custom det maps on the right track

I "think" Mani is now working with the new update
SunLit Detonation (Annex) will remain colmar/jagd 24/7.
Reports are in that that random crashes may occur with Mani and new maps, so please be patient if it happens on our servers too.
**UPDATE** the Mani crashes were due to the custom admin skins. They have been disabled and all is right with the world. Console kill = suicide only

Today is the day. "Soon" has arrived.
As soon as the update is released, we'll have the servers updated and rebooted. The Annex will be running dod_colmar and dod_jagd, the new detonation gameplay maps, 24/7 for the first day.

The Prodod mod has updated again and SunLits has an opportunity to speak to the changes in weapon balances and traits.
SunLit Crossfire 69.28.221.230:27015 is running and ready for a workout. Take a walk through all of the weapons.
Enforcers can use the Rcon menu to execute the pdmatch.cfg.

dart has sent us his latest version of dods_chemile, now known as dod_coire_rc2.
There will be a private playtest of it tonight on the Annex 69.28.221.146:27015, 8 - 10pm est. The password is "sunlitrocks". Please do not distribute the map to any outside of the SunLit community.

Just bind a key to play a soundfile that doesn't exist. Tap the key, and any .mp3 sound files will stop playing. It does occasionally require multiple taps. - Spectre-7
Hit the key when the music starts. It does not effect PC volume, in game voice, or ambient sounds, just the music.

The 28th
"The next big update coming to our multiplayer games will include two completely new maps for Day of Defeat: Source, named Colmar and Jagd. (Long-time Day of Defeat players will recognize the name Jagd, but the name is really all the new map shares with its predecessor.) Both maps will have slightly differing takes on a new gameplay style we're calling "Detonation". Both will be released on the 28th of June, along with other updates to the game itself. "
