Tidjey, the author of dod_elden, has released a port of his DOD 1.3 map, dod_library .. It is an urban, wintry night map , reminiscent of dod_northbound. Its atmospheric and has good fps. Loaded up on Futurama and Annex.

Im making an executive decision and postponing the SLDL matches on epicentre_b2d until next week.

If you are getting kicked with an error message that "This Steam account does not own this game," be aware that this is not a problem with the SunLit servers.
It is some sort of problem with Valve's Steam network. It is happening to users all over the place, including CS:S servers.
There does not seem to be anything either players or server operators can do to fix it.
There's a thread about it over on the steam forums, so I'm sure Valve is aware of it and working on it. You can find more info here.

TheGreatG33b3r has released a map inspired by BOB, dod_flak_b3. " Its a circular map and you can get to the center from 3 different paths. All of these paths are good for different classes. This will make gameplay intense "

Lard has released his latest in the stug series, dod_stug_det_b1.
Two detonation targets have replaced the flags and the allies have 4 minutes to blow up two tanks. The ladders from the river bed to the bridge have been removed. The allies' left flank has expanded from their sniper house to the tunnel entrance axis side.
Looks like it will be a fast map.

Dash has released the last of his trenchwar trilogy, dod_pillbox3
Its bigger, has 7 flags, ladders out of the trenches and a tunnel system across the map. The question is whether the fps can take it. On the mapcycle today.
Cheese Sarnie has released a small and beautiful "fun" map dod_stonehenge.
Should be good for those valiant players who seed the servers. It can be voted in.

Morning traffic on dods servers has dropped since the beginning of the school year.
Early hour activity appears on the combination of 32 man servers and novelty maps.
The most popular are the monochromatic, death matchy, arena maps. They can be fun with a handful of players for target practice.

Pedroleum has asked for a private playtest of his early beta dod_plateau_v42
The map is huge, larger than dod_alps. Therein lies the challenge. The map demands
24+ players but can the fps stand the heat ? At this point , the map is still very rough. Buildings are grey cutouts and the detonation icons dont change. The objectives are to detonate the 2 flak88 and train. and capture the church flag. Allies need to blowup 2 fence lines on right and left flanks respectively to reach the train and then a door tothe church. He is asking for comments on gameplay and fps and any glaring exploits.
The playtest will be held on SunLit Futurama 69.28.221.145:27015 , password "sunlitrocks", at 9pm est.

Coire now is available in 3 versions
All have good framerates and distinctive gameplay
coire_rc2 - feel like the original Chemille, minus doors
coire_rc3 - new access to underpass makes it the deuce to defend, minus doors
cal_coire - reintroduces the two doors from chemille and strats based on balancing the doors as bottleneck or new access route
TPG is running coire_rc3, CAL is running cal_coire
Based on consistency and gameplay which one do you want to see in the SLDL week 5?

He's added a new route at the underpass and axis spawn outside their room.
NoLimit> Ripster , forever the perfectionist , has released Solitude tweaked for competition in its final form, dod_solitude_comp.
Change log for dod_solitude_comp 8/27/06:
Axis spawn protection increased
Flag timers set to 1 sec for all flags except the 2 man it is 3 sec
Brightness increased & increased no dark corners anymore

New spawn exits, brighter lighting and shortened flag cap times make it worth revisiting.
Propaganda has relased a remake of his 3.1 classic,
dod_wall_b1.
Boyscout has relased another tank map based on the stock map donner, dod_donner_tank.
Finally, FuzzDad has released a preview of what should be the final version of dod_anvil2. Sound loop be gone!

Inspired by an interesting suggestion, there will be a trial return to the Annex MOTW format:
- 16 slots
- Mani Admin enabled and SunLit rules stand
- current and next two weeks' motw from SLDL, CAL/TPG
- cvarx (rate and file consistency plugin):
1) Minimal rates

2) File Consistency
The only custom content that the cvarx plugin allows are:
crosshairs - a nice selection of alternate crossahairs
huds - transparent background to death messages, smaller fonts, smalller hud, w/o end round stats
victory music - 35% volume and shorter duration
Futurama will remain 24 slots and feature all custom ctf and detonation maps.

inKit has released his first and extremely novel map dod_flash_tank
"Axis need to get the tank to the other side of the map. The tank will move as long as an axis is running next to it. The tank will stop for every sandbag (6 in total) that is in it's way. Axis need to blow up the sandbags (1 satchel charge needed).
The tank will destroy the last barrier, take the flag to win the round.
Allies need to defend the only flag by slowing down/stopping the tank
do this by standing close to the tank and defending your sandbags.
min round time = 5min 40
max round time = 7min
Destroying each sandbag give axis extra time on the counter.

"Ok...you can playtest this on your servers but remember that I'll probably be releasing a final version w/same name in a few days. I'm really interested in gameplay more than anything else so fire up some players...if there's nothing major wrong w/this version I might actually release it as THE version in a day. Major = BAD which means crash-map bad or gameplay sucks bad. I really don't care at this point about texture alignment and a few bad lighting deals (rubble model near hotel is one). -FuzzDad"

It looks like one of the more popular DODS maps we run, dod_highlander, is out of beta. The final release is out and loaded onto the servers.
If you haven't seen this map yet, it is a beautiful, great big open area map that is a lot of fun.
The author, Jake Parlay, made the following notes about this release:
Change list (since April beta release):
* Improved Optimization
* Finer detail and prop work
* Minor terrain sculpting, reduced sightlines, easier player movement up hills
* Refined soundscapes and some custom ambient clips
* Added 3rd legitimate Allied spawn exit
* Added more protection for Axis spawns
* Spawn points on both teams about 20 steps 'closer to the action'
* Fixed Allies not recieving points for holding Axis second objective
* Reduced filesize and collision load about 30%
* New overview

Moroes has relased an urban atmospheric map dod_campazzo_b1. Its autumnal and foggy...maybe too foggy. Let us know what you think .
Green has released a Source rendition of his DOD1.3 map , dod_carentanbob_b1.
There is no bunny, but it does have 5 flags and a nice layout.
Someth|ngWicked has released a third version of of his map dod_hill_classic_b3
Changelog:
-Axis now earn 1 team point for ever minute that they control the hill (glitch:although HUD says allies get point)
-Changed hilltop capture zone to only take 5 seconds to capture
-Changed mortars to deal more damage, have double the damage radius and changed their sounds to only be audible within a certain radius
Maps will be up on the Annex this morning.
