CC_Nipper has released a surreal campaign NightTerror_b1. Five full levels with a finale, its creative and challenging. The team dying on either level 2 or 3 produces a nav error and neccessitates a return to the lobby and restart of the mission from the mansion. 102 MB zip so download it ahead of time.

L4D Server Browser Update Posted By RosietheRiveter -
Left 4 Dead has been updated to include a lobby browser. The lobby browser (under Play Online) will show you a list of optimal games available for you to join. The browser pares down the thousands of lobbies and games currently being played to show you the best list of games available to you. This list includes official and add-on campaigns, including add-on campaigns you have not yet installed, making it a great way to discover them. You can filter by difficulty, official and/or add-on campaigns and by lobbies and/or games in progress. The specific changes include:

Left 4 Dead
* The Play on Steam Group Server screen now displays which Steam group it's searching while updating the list
* After calling a vote to change difficulty in game it is now correctly updated in matchmaking

Add-on Campaigns
* When downloading a new version of an add-on and installing it (by double clicking the .VPK file), it will now correctly overwrite the previous version, even while Left 4 Dead is currently running
* Addressed a crash when two mission files with the same name are installed
* Steam Group Servers now will now correctly offer download links when running add-on campaigns

Preseason 1 Match anvil3 - review Posted By RosietheRiveter -
Waiting on results from PNC vs AWSM, DevilsBrigade vs Monk
The winning team needs to post scores and screenshots in the Report Scores Forums

New teams may still Register before July 19, 2009 up to an even number of teams.

Please make sure that your team members have registered for a XAC account and all of the team has the same team tag in their profiles.

Scores and Standings aside, the SLDL is about having an opportunity once a week to enjoy some competitive/organized game play.
Poor sportsmanship has no place at SunLit Games or the SLDL.. Global Chat taunting, insults and voice_negative spamming are not acceptable.
Consequences for asshattery will include match overturns and suspensions.

[POLL] One or Two Conferences Posted By RosietheRiveter -
Currently there are 14 teams signed on
Would the TEAM LEADERS please vote their preference in the poll

The options are:
1) One conference with all 14 teams
2) 2 conferences Upper 8 and Lower 6
3) Have an extended preseason, everyone in, until there are at least 16 teams signed up, then create 2 Conferences with a minimum of 8 teams each

**Friday June 28**
Only 6 teams have voted in the poll. I am reluctant to make a final disposition of conference structure that results in teams leaving. Please vote your preference for this season's conference structure.

We can start Sunday July 12 for Preseason 1 match

New SunLit Dedicated Game Server Posted By Pvt_John -
We have moved all our game server instances over to a new dedicated server. Our old server was a 1.87 GHz Quad Core Xeon with 2GB of RAM, a 160GB HD, running Windows Server 2003 32-bit. Our new server is a Quad Core Q9400 running at 2.66GHz, with 4GB RAM, a 250GB HD, running Windows Server 2003 64bit. Like the previous server, the new one has a multi-homed 100Mb connection and is hosted in a datacenter in Chicago.

So, the new server is a signicantly better machine all the way round. The best part about it, though, is it's actually $50 cheaper per month. We were paying $229, and now we're only paying $179.

The IP addresses for our servers have changed. Please click the Read Full Article link below for a full list, or simply see the Live Server Status info on the right hand of this page.

Many thanks to the people at UGS for their assistance getting everything setup, and as always for providing us great service and a quality server. In addition to dedicated servers, they also offer public and private game server instances. We've been using them off and on for about eight years and can recommend them.

And, as always, thank you to the people who have donated to SunLit to make our continued operation possible!

Note: L4D does not yet support in game downloads. You will need to install it before you can join the game. An enforcer will need to be in game to use console rcon changelevel l4d_mapname command to switch to l4d_dam_it
