HL:DM Maps - Do the Remakes "Work" in HL2:DM ?
Good question. Who are the remakes made for [2] ? The HL old timers or the HL2 fan who may not have even played HLDM ?
Do the remakes capture the fun of the originals?

With this in mind, a new mapcycle is up on the SunLit HL:DM server

The maps will fast auto-download from the server
Refresh your memory of the old favourites * or if you are new to HL:DM, jump in the game and see where the HL2:DM mappers got their inspiration.
If you have never played HL:DM and already play HL2, installation is free and easy. Read below for the the simple instructions.

Open the Steam Menu --> Play Games --> Double Click on the Half-Life icon and it will install the game for you.



Visit the HL:DM Map Downloads [13] page to install the maps in the map cycle or download directly from the news article.

Unzip the files to

C:>Program Files>Steam>SteamApps>{your e-mail}>Half-Life>valve



When you log on to the server, remember to select your player's skin from

Options --> Multiplayer --> Select skin ---> Apply

No generic Combine and Rebel skin colours here ;) More custom skins can be found in the SunLit Games Skin Library [14].



The server will be running Laz's HL mod but the shotgun spawn is disabled for the sake of weapon and gameplay comparison.
