Dod_smallhill_snowday is beautiful-looking, and fairly original map. It is set in the winter in a country village overlooked by a hill with a bunker and two flanking 88s. The axis spawn in the bunker at the top of the hill, the allies spawn in the far end of the village, behind a farmhouse.
The thing that makes the map unique is the ability of both sides to bring fire down on the enemy positions. The allies, by pressing their "use" key while facing the radio in their spawn, can bring down airstrikes on the top of the hill. The axis, by pressing their "use" key while facing the side of the 88s with the controls on it, can bring down artillery strikes near the allies' first and second flags. Using these features properly (i.e., coordinating with teammates so as not to slaughter half of your own team), is the key to winning the map. A good sniper also helps.
There are five flags, including a two-man cap near the center in a small blown-out building with a fire raging inside.
The framerates are acceptable.
The map is suitable for match play. |

I prefer the standard smallhill to this one. this one suffers worse fps and choke (greater with more players) on account of the foliage I imagine.
