Propaganda has released another CSS to DODS port dod_dust2_bt. At the moment, its a beta. Fire it up and see how it plays. If its good, Propaganda will release the final version.

The dedicated server in Chicago is getting a real work out
2 DODS, 1 DOD, 1 HLDM, 1 PVK2 and 1 CSS server
CPU use heads north of 50% and system wide lag set in with the addition of just the PVK2 server. A public CSS server could put is over the top or it could be something peculiar to the PVK2 mod itself.
I'll be paying close attention to the CPU performance today. You may see Booty and Crossfire on and off until its sussed out.

There has been some interest in CS:S again.

It is currently only running the 18 stock maps .
Mani is working and has he same options for the enforcers as in DODS.

There have been two ports to DODS released of of the CSS map aztec.
The version by [SAS] Colster , dod_[SAS]_aztec is worth enabling r_3dsky ;) Its sourced to the max and still maintains 100fps. It has 4 flags with 2-2man caps. There is no spawn protection and the river bed is "sticky" like the mud on Bleakhill. It downloads as 25MB bzip.

One Strike has released a smaller version dod_aztec_b3, weighing in at 2.5MB. He managed this by cutting down the area of the map, keeping textures very simple, omitting a 3d skybox and only "sourcing" the water. Fps stable at 100. There are 4 flags, all 1 man caps, the river bed is not sticky and there is spawn protection. Neither version has a minimap.
Its the age old question of style or substance. Both maps are running on Futurama on 20 min timelimits. Vote for your preference to be included in the maplist.

Just a reminder that this Sunday, after the newcastle match, the rosters will be locked for the rest of the season.
There is a new rate and cvar consistency plugin and cfg available.
You can download them from the bottom of the map page.
They must be installed for the Jan 21 match on dod_dust.
All players need to ensure that they have cl_restrict_server_commands 0 in their client autoexec.cfg
Teams can confirm they the plugin and cfg are running by typing in console
meta list
sv_consistency
rcon status
jpeg
This will show the currrent version of CALibrate (version 07.01.02) is running, the sv_consistency is set to 1 and record the players' steamids and ips.

The COFv2 plugin is running on SunLit Futurama.
"This change will fix the light domination issues. The lights are now noticeably far less accurate across any long distance. As you can see the previous cone mostly favored the guns that fire the most, since they had more chances to hit the center. This version of the plugin spreads the 'center' region out so guns that should be less accurate have a larger 'center' whereas guns that are accurate have much smaller 'centers.' - Red Comet
Source's cof is on the left, prodod's cof is in the middle, and dod 1.3's cof is on the right.
Version 0 and 1 of the plugin used the middle cof, this version uses the right hand one.

Furyo has released a well wrought map, dod_rive_rc1. As you would expect, its beautiful to behold. There are 5 flags with 2- 2man caps The middle flag is on a sand bar and will be brutal to defend. I am very impressed by the improvement in fps from the early betas.
Lard has released his newest version of dod_stug_rc1.
The map is more balanced and brighter than its predecessors.

The Annex Motw 69.28.221.146:27015 now has CALibrate enabled.
This plugin ensures minimum rates and file consisitency.
***All players need to ensure that they have
cl_restrict_server_commands 0 in their client autoexec.cfg***
Futurama 69.28.221.145:27015 still permits custom content.

The mod is free and you can download from the main page
There is info on the game site and in the playerguide.html in the pvkii directory once installed.

First time mapper Fishy has released dod_mortimer_b2 It has a classic 5 flag layout with 2 man cap in the center. Fps are moderate but will need to be tested with a full server.
[AoS] Albatross continues in his creation of unique large city maps with dod_luebeck_rc1 Its a large city map with dark, rainy , gritty ambience.There are airstrikes, bridges and elevators to manipulate.
Albatross has also updated and tweaked his nuernberg map dod_nuernberg24_b1 The flags have been reduced from 6 to 4 with a 2man cap on the bridge and a 3man cap on the third floor of a building.FPS are much improved. This map is still 70+MB and should be downloaded in advance.
Green has released updates to dod_donner_tank3 and dod_granville_rc2

Red Comet announces a ProDod Server plugin for DOD Source

[SAS] Dirty Harry has released 2 new maps. He has fixed the world hurt on the fences and removed the riverside exploit in his final version of dod_battlebridge
. His second offering is new detonation map, dod_eagles_b3.
The map is a copy of castle Schloss Hohenwerfen, better known as Schloss Adler the SS Headquaters from the WWII film "Where Eagles Dare".
Note: if you downloaded eagles before 5pm est, you will have to delete it and re-install

The Mani Admin Plugin is installed on Futurama. It has been upgraded from the familiar 1.10zk to the 1.2N 214 to restore its functions after the last source update. Mani will only be supporting the newer format in the future.
The end round vote menu is working again .
Enforcers have all their permissions.
However, in order to disable the centre screen Vote Progress menu, the players need to type "settings" in global chat and then turn off the progress menu from the Settings Menu
You only have to do this once as your preference is stored in players.dat file.
If you havent already done so, remember to add cl_restrict_server_commands 0 to your console or cfg to benefit from Mani's features.

The latest version of Dustin Diamond's dod_strand_rc1 is playing on Futurama . Hard to believe but he has even made it even better.

Squinty (82ndRangers) has released his map dod_newcastle_final. Newcastle is based on Travis' 1.3 classic series dod_sherman but Squinty has added additional pathways that switch up the gameplay significantly. Fps were solid with Source quality graphics.
**Update Nov 21**
A new version has been released with the same name. Please delete the old version off your hard drive if you receive the error, "Your map version differs from the servers"
If you havent already done so, remember to add cl_restrict_server_commands 0 to your console or cfg to be able to access the map vote menus to try out these new maps.

Valve has added a new cvar (client-side setting). The default setting for this cvar prevents game servers from executing any console commands on your PC.
It sounds like a good idea, I know, but it prevents our server administration plugin from doing simple things like popping up a menu on your screen. Because of this, we recommend you execute the following command to override it:
cl_restrict_server_commands 0
****IMPORTANT****
You will not be able to see any Mani Admin menus in game unless you add this cvar to your config or simply execute it once in the console. This includes the end round votemap map menu and the TK forgive menu.

Well this is a pip
During a scrim this evening, we found that the scoring on Grubbenvorst is "broken"
Axis score 4 pts but allies score 2 for the same flag spread.
Rather than postpone the preseason match , donner will be the replacement.
We're all familiar with donner , it will still allow the teams to sort out the servers,
(especially in light of this latest Source update) and its still preseason.
Lets roll.

Kicked for Illegal Alias Error
The latest Steam update has added a clientside cvar
Source Engine
* Added new cl_restrict_server_commands to prevent unwanted commands being run on game clients. The default value is 1, valid settings are:
o 0 = Don't restrict any server commands
o 1 = Restrict server commands in Valve multiplayer games
o 2 = Restrict server commands in all multiplayer games
Sounds like a good idea but , players entering a server with CALenforce and/or CALibrate may be "kicked by console for using an illegal alias".
That doesnt mean a secret identity ;)
It indicates that your config is blocking the calenforce/cvarx plugins from editing your cfg to "legal" values.
So you have two options at the moment
1) type in console before you join server cl_restrict_server_commands 0
2) play on servers that do not use the CALenforce/cvarx plugins.
We have disabled the cvar consistency plugins on the Annex MOTW till this can be sorted out

The latest version of Ca-Chicken-Soup's dod_vigilance_rc2 is on the servers. He has returned the ally's two flag to a 2 man cap.

The GreatG33b3r has another update to his flak series, dod_flak_b6 The central area with the 3 flak88 is essentially the same but he has added buildings on the perimeter, changed the spawn areas and worked on the fps.
