The DODS update is really on the horizon. In the category of low hanging fruit would be the removal of map exploits on the stock maps.
This is your chance to list (with screenshots) all of those annoying exploits. The sooner the input, the sooner the maps can be cleaned up.
Please take this golden opportunity to improve the quality of gameplay on the stock maps. The only rule is that the exploit can be removed by "clipping", not architectural changes. Clipping blocks access to an area or object.
Time is of the essence. When you have your screenshot and description of the exploit please post the data in this thread.
Update: Annex will be running stock maps only for the next 2 days. Find those exploits and post

Well this is an opportunity for you west coasters
"We'd like to get some performance data on how the TF2 game server is running against different types of hardware. The easiest way for us to do this is to run a bunch of servers and then take a look at where the bottlenecks are. We're currently running 16 servers and need some people to join them.
They are at:
207.173.176.220:27045 through 207.173.176.220:27060.
Their hostnames are all Valve Test Server #1 up to Valve Test Server #16.
If we could get a bunch of people in there to bang on them that would be really useful.

The Play Now! links in the Pub Servers block at right now work again.
Previously, they worked for IE but not Firefox. Now, they should work for both. Unfortunately, COD4 still doesn't support this feature.

5) Working with custom map Salerno to be stock map
6) Guesses March release but suggests "Valve Time" is more appropriate
7) Looking into: players ability to disable victory music, custom crosshairs, will check on melee hits (might benefit from TF2 work he did).

The finals were fought out on thunder last night. Both teams showed up with their game faces on. The first round was brutal with the Pub$tarz showing they meant business. Iron and Steel dug in for the second round and blocked any full caps. Congratulations to both teams.

Rosters are unlocked and registration open for season 14.

Within the next 24-48 hours, the original www.DayofDefeat.com will be no more. It will be merging with the forums at www.steampowered.com. I would urge anyone here who has a favourite or informative thread on the DOD fourms to copy and paste it over to the new forums for posterity's sake. If you want to say goodbye to friends or see the final curtain, stop by.

The fourteenth season of the SunLit DODS League is just around the corner. The matches will be scheduled on Sunday 9pm est. Preseason One match is scheduled for February 24, 2008.

- removed detox
- Mani admin menu works - choice of map change to be at end of round or immediately
- Votemap and rtv (rock the vote) are enabled, requiring 4 votes and the map will change immediately
- have added marlky_b4, 415warsaw_b1a, goodwood_rc2, harvest_b2 and punch_b2 to Annex

JCC from the 415 has released an early beta of warsaw. There are no killer doors ;) and the craters are tricky but its a good start. It can be voted in on Futurama.

A mani file persists in being overwritten. It will allow you to see the first set of admin menus but they wont execute

Jake Parley has released another polished map. Sidewinder is a 5-point capture map featuring twisting runs through canyons and old-timey western areas. 32-player compatible and well optimized, it should play nicely on pub rotations. Playing on both servers

Furyo has released his updated version of studio.
"Cp_studio_rc3 features CP gameplay set in a movie studios environment, where the world of TF2 shoots cartoon remakes of our popular movies, such as Lord of the Rings, Terminator 2 and Back to the Future.
MAP DESCRIPTION:
In dire need of space for more movie studios, Furyo Studios and Pedroleum Studios fight it off to entertain the world of TF2. The map's gameplay takes both Granary and Well for a spin, and mixes both maps using similar CP setups. 5 Capture Points total, with two sets of advanced spawn points and a close to symmetrical layout. Hey there fellas. Sorry for the gap in news. Post-Orange Box Valve has been a tough balancing at of trying to take a break after the crunch, and trying to stay busy so we don't go crazy.
To answer DoD update questions, the answer is beginning of next year. Boone was working on it but had to peel off for some other tasks. Now we're all about to head into vacation for pretty much the rest of the year. Last we spoke about it though, I'm pretty sure he said most of the work is done. Just a few things left to check off the list, and then playtesting.

I have updated the COD4 server in a few ways.
The most significant change is that the mapcycle now alternates between Domination and Sabotage modes. In Domination mode there are 3 control points, control of said points gives you points, and the game ends at pre-determined score limit.
In Sabotage mode, each team has a home base. There is one bomb, each team tries to plant it on the others HQ. Team that succeeds wins. Unlimited respawns.
I personally find the teamplay-centric, objective-oriented kind of play much more interesting. I am guessing that most of our regulars will like these modes, too.
The other changes are more minor. I have done some things to make the server more visible in server lists. Let's hope this works. I have also removed the six private slots on the machine, so the correct max players of 32 now shows up in server browsers.
Keep in mind COD4 is still new to SunLit, and we are very open to changes to the server setup, mapcycles, etc. Let us know what you like.

DaKurt has released his version of Saisie, dod_beaumont_rc1. FPS are good and the layout from the original is retained. The map appears dark if HDR is enabled.
Tolk has released his version of the original Jagd, dod_hunt_b4. Four flags replace the 1.3 det style. FPS are average. The layout is mostly the same but the axis first flag area is very cramped.
R0ke has released an early beta of dod_punch_b1. 5 flags, one 2-man cap. Map features a submarine yard.
