Beta has gone Gold. I will get the Pub Custom server up asap and update the match servers tomorrow.
**Everything should be up by noon tomorrow. Need to delete old servers and then defrag and reinstall, no worries.

We were very excited that FuzzDad had taken the time to recompile Anvil3 so that it could once again be played in matches on sv_pure servers. However, there is some problem with it and Beta producing server crashes.
Ive pmed FuzzDad so he now knows about the problem. He will fix it but its unlikely it will be done before this weekend. Its a shame because its a great map.
Therefore , it will be substituted out for Solitude_match for this weekends July 6th match. You can download it here solitude_match
If the Anvil3 problem is resolved we can swap it back in later in the season.

The alliance between SunLit and 2nd RB is effectively over.
They are still welcome on our servers and to play in SLDL, of course.
The agreement we had was to have 2nd RB make our pub servers their home pub servers. The idea was that everyone from both groups would benefit from having more people to shoot (DOD is just more fun that way). However, 2nd RB has now set up their own pub servers. They are free to do so, of course. We wish them luck with it.

Apparently diversion_b1 has purple obj icons with sv_pure 2 :(
If you have diversion_b3 loaded from last season, you may play that if the icons bother you.

I'd like to thank you all for the prompt replies and the willingness to be flexible with repsect to home teams. Still havent heard from Omega, =JtF2= or |TKG| but here goes
For Preseason 1 June 22, 2008 , the SLDL will use DODS with the cfg thats already on the Download page.
The team lineups will be Home team first,

Well this is a mess. Bless CAL for jumping the gun
You all signed up for SLDL and I'll be darned if this issue causes anyone to pull out .
So what Im hearing is:
- the majority (7/10) of teams would be willing to play the Beta BUT not all can because some hosting companies will not install/support the Beta .
- Teams playing in CAL and SLDL would need to have and pay for 2 match servers to play in both.
- Within the SLDL, there can't be some matches played on Beta and some on DODS each week, it has to be one or the other until Beta goes Gold.
Question: How many teams as of right now have
1) only a functioning Beta match server that they have control of or that their hosting company will support?
2) only a functioning DODS match server that they have control of or that their hosting company will support?
If 6 or more teams have a supported and functioning Beta or DODS match server, that could determine which engine would be run. Would it then be agreeable for these teams to be the "Home Team" each week until the Beta goes Gold? In this manner, no team would need to pay for 2 match servers. When Beta goes Gold then hosting companies will need to make the switch and SLDL teams will be in synch.

CAL has decided to go with DODS beta for their next season despite remaining issues with match configurations. Its unlikely that teams will be supporting two match servers for upcoming leagues so Team Leaders: please vote on your preference for the SLDL 15 today.

There was a post in the steam froums that the FF ON and Custom Tab would be fixed in the Final Update Release and that it would be "soon." :shock:
Fuzz Dad has posted a Compiled list If you dont think its been fixed or you have something that needs to be added speak up.
If you have ANY suggestions or glitches to report PLEASE get on it and post on the Steam DODS Beta Forums. Include screenshots with net_graph 1, DX level, OS, RAM, and video card.

Requests to postpone the start of SLDL from June 15 to June 22 to accommodate Fathers Day will be honoured.
Preseason 1 Match will now start June 22, 2008.
The SLDL will use this 1 week extension to reassign match lineups and post them for the entire season.

SLI-Woody has released a beautiful new map, dod_silico_rc1. It is set in an Italian seaside town and is textured beautifully. My quick walk-through on it today showed good framerates as well.
It has an intersting flag setup, with three two-man cap flags. There is also a good mix of close-in and long-distance fighting, to keep the autos and the rifles happy. The layout is also fairly clean and quick to grasp.
I like it a lot from my walk-through, I am anxious to see what it is like with 20+ players. Give it a try on the DODS Beta server. It is in rotation, and can be voted in.

We gave it a try, but it just never quite caught on.
The Call of Duty 4 public and private servers have been turned off. The COD4 engine was one of the bigger resource hogs on the server, and it just wasn't being used enough to justify keeping them running.
We continue to focus most of our resources to make sure the Day of Defeat and Day of Defeat Source servers have all the power they need to run smoothly. We also continue to run TF2 and HL2DM for the time being at least.

I hate to say it but we need to switch to FF OFF on the beta server until the tags are amalgamated. The number of FF ON servers has faded to a handful,as servers have switched to FF OFF in order to be to be seen on the Internet Tab and attract new players. We can do FF OFF for now until Beta goes gold and then hopefully switch back.

Wow! Upset victories last night

The [907th] will be facing off with -Omega Gaming - next Sunday on lennon. Although not currently supported by the rules =JAG= and [I&S] are meeting up and duking it out for third place. Its a cool idea and an official match for 3rd place will be incorporated in the rules for next season.

Updates to Day of Defeat: Source Beta have been released. The updates will be applied automatically when your Steam client is restarted. The specific changes include:

The DODS Beta server will be on and off this morning with a password
Ill be adding Source Metamod and admin access
It will be live again for the Next DODS Beta update later today
OK - a very basic admin interface is running on the beta server. Enforcers check the post in Enforcers forum.

The server is up and running but the client files have yet to be released.
The server will be running just stock this morning until we're sure that the server itself is stable. Ill add back a few customs as the day goes on. Enforcers will have to resort to rcon only until we can test Mani.
The beta will be listed under your Uninstalled games in Steam Menu

Its no longer "soon"", its imminent as in within the next 24 hours
Changes in this update:
- added Dod_Palermo, updated map based on Dod_Salerno by Insta
- added Steamworks features, including achievements and player avatars
- added Nemesis and Revenge
- added Freeze Cam
- friendly players no longer collide with each other
- many particle systems have been improved
- changed the algorithm for bullet spread to be more like the original Day of Defeat
- reduced Garand recoil
- View position is now adjusted when zoomed with rifles and sniper rifles to help with player visibility around corners
Planned changes not in this update:
- Per-player stats linked to Steam Community
- many map exploit fixes
