Dod_putten_b5 is an interesting map. It is set in a town, with a large courtyard in the middle, which contains the center flag. In my opinion, the map is good but not great. The map seems contrived and does not seem much like a real town. For instance, many of the streets are perfectly rectangular, meet at right angles, and seem to be shiny clean. This is not something one would expect in Europe, especially in the middle of a war.
There are some really nicely done parts, though. For instance the large building with the clocktower next to the main square looks beautiful and is well-done. The infirmary is also nicely laid out inside, and something different from the insides of rooms in many maps. The river emptys into a sewer sytem for an additional travel route. The lighting in the b5 version is excellent. Mines ave been added for spawn protection. FuzzyDonkey has really made this version shine.
There are five flags, with a two-man cap at the middle.
The framerates are optimized in this latest version..
The map may be suitable for match play. |
